I don't know for sure...but here's my best guess:
I believe the stock speaker is 8 ohms.
I believe the amp will run at 4 ohms.
Therefore, the extension speaker should be 8 ohms, to load the amp at 4 ohms.
However, this is all pure speculation and bad memory on my part. Been a loooong time since I've seen either of those in person.

I can't find a B18 schematic at the moment but I'm pretty sure the output wiring is the same as the B15N: The 8 ohm internal speaker is normally connected to the 8 ohm tap on the output tranny. When an extension speaker is plugged in it is put in series with the internal speaker and the wiring is switched over to the 16 ohm tap on the OT. Meaning the extension speaker should also be 8 ohms.
As I said, this is from memory. Perhaps someone with a schematic can confirm.
