BA!! Bridge Two

ok i'm interested,i see these eruhmmm `rings' on the saddles,does that mean i can move/set the strings where i want them?(i also intend to cut a new nut my intent is to get the strings a wee bit closer together,better lined up with the P pickups,closer to a J,the neck i'm using is only an 8th wider but the strings feel close to the edge of neck and also wide above the pickup),can i do this with the BadAssBridge? if not,,,is there one i CAN adjust`side to side' with?,,,i'll even `do it right' and measure! i promise!

I don't know for sure, because I have not tried the Badass II but, the saddles are not notched, so you should be able to set up your string spacing how you like just by putting the groove in the saddle where you want it. Or you could try a vintage Fender type bridge with the threaded rod saddles, that way you can space the strings how ever you like with out any modification to the saddles at all.

what kind of bridge are you talking about? in general, yes, multiple grooves on a bass saddle are for letting you change the string spacing.

I think you may be looking for something like the Schaller Roller Bass Bridge. I have one on my Jazz Bass Special and it works like a charm. I believe that Hipshot also makes a bridge with adjustable string spacing but I've not tried them.

hit the `well known auction site' late morning and i can see there's several BA bridges,some just look like standard Fender,,so i'm uncertain if the bridge i looked at WAS a BA2,,,the weather broke a bit today from 33/fog/snow to 43/daylight/rain,,so i been busy outside

i'm going to do more homework tonight(and check the other thread started as i NOW see a bridge with 4 separate smaller bridges that looks extremly interesting)i'm not looking for a massive string relocation but i can see a wee bit tighter grouping would feel more JAZZY=?

i bought two Matsumoko built P's(eBay) with the intent of building one,using the neck off one on my J,i figure i'll have fun doing/learning the mechanical aspect with low end basses and most likely build upon a neck as the end result(in other words i'm buying necks the rest is disposable),havent got the second one yet,we'll see!,thanks for the replys!

i still can't quite figure out what you're talking about. "BA" bridges that look like "standard fender"? "a bridge with 4 separate smaller bridges"?

help me out here, you got pictures or links?

and search`bad ass bridge' you'll see(if it hasn't finished) an old stock bridge that for all the world looks like a Fender bridge,`Leo Quan' right on the label,then search`bass bridge' and you'll see a set of 4 SINGLE mount bridge(s) in the list,,,one for each string(cool!),,,and several other options,mostly cheap copies of Fenders but as always a trip to eBay IS enlightening

i just visited Hipshot,they have at least 3 bridges on sale-scratch and dent',,call them up,,i bet they aren't very scuffed up but not perfect(like maybe one hot saturday night at the corner honky-tonk

i'm GASing for a set of Lollipop tuners,,dang!,,more Zinfandel! i have to quell the GAS!
