After 20 years of inactivity I recently bought a new set of strings and gave my ‘95 Warwick Thumb Bass a right good clean. Why? Cos the guy at the end of the street I’ve been talking music to for 2 years mentioned he was starting a jam night and was looking for a bass player. “You’ve found him”. Got myself a wee Orange combo (loving the dirty channel) and am very (very) much enjoying making music again with zero expectations and zero boundaries. Next im selling the Warwick for a complete change. I found the site by accident this evening and I’m looking forward to conversing with like minded individuals - it’s not just an instrument it’s a way of life. All the best- from Scotland.
Hello and welcome. Lots of great info and people willing to lend their expertise when asked. You will learn a lot if you hang here very long. Some of it is even useful!
Three and a half years later, I got that new bass, went down the rabbit hole of sourcing second hand pedals to build a wee board akin to, but better than I used to have years ago. Special mention to the spectra comp, a compressor was something I’d never really used previously apart from the option built into my trace Elliot. Really levels up the boom boom bottom and piano like tones above the 12th fret. Got myself a focusrite and protools on the Mac and suddenly I’m recording again and it’s not costing £1 per minute. @Dede Arneaux, love the WF Bass! I have a somewhat similar 6072 reissue. And welcome back, just watch those saddle sores.
Lovely Electrics on my Falcon and the 6082 look the same. I imagine they sound similar. Lovin the flame on it
