Back line being provided by company I'm feuding with

So this should be interesting. Playing a Big charity event tomorrow night and the company providing the back line is one I've been feuding with the last couple years. I had bought a SVT CL off of them over two years ago and had nothing but problems with it. It fried while my band was on the road 3 times. At 2 band practices and at my home. Each time they replaced tubes, had parts of the board re soldered, replaced parts and many hours on the bench... probably more than time spent gigging lol. Anyways I fought for months to get my money back which they eventually did after claiming they could still get it fixed. After I returned it they put it right back out on the floor and it still sits there to this day. It is also the only Ampeg head they have in the store now... I'm dreading showing up to this gig tomorrow and seeing this thing sitting on top an 810. Now how messed up is that lol a bass player saying they are dreading showing up to a SVT and 810 already set up that they didn't have to carry! Fingers crossed.

Ha! If they know you'll be playing bass then they'll give you a chance to play on your favorite piece of gear and you'll be testing it out under working conditions for them too. You may want to bring a backup amp, but seriously why would they let anyone (including you) go on stage with a piece of unreliable gear to smear their own reputation...even if they know you'll be playing on it will you be the only one? I could be wrong but I don't think it'll be 'that' amp.

Lol it's an ongoing joke around town whenever someone goes into the store and see's the "famous exploding SVT". Lets just say I will have a back up haha

Your contraband amp might save the day. Or the famous exploding amp might take out the 810 and render your backup irrelevant.

I guess as long as they can run a DI and give you monitors it doesn't have to be a gig ending failure. But who needs that anxiety while performing?

I suppose the fact that other bassists at least know the amp by reputation keeps the egg off your face with your peers.

Hopefully they provide a different amp, or it fails for an earlier band, or doesn't fail, in that order of preference.

Right now my only back up is a Peavey TNT150 combo. It was cold snowing and I was lazy Haha. Plus I was told not to bring gear and I wasn't leaving it out in my truck in the cold all night. Old things don't like the cold :laugh:
