back to rounds

Been playing flats for a while (Ti jazz flats) but recent work has lead me back to rounds. Anyone know a good spot on the web to get light guage strings (40-95) such as sunbeams, ghs pressurewounds etc?

Also would love to get recommendations on the pressurewounds and sunbeams from those who use these brands and (perhaps also flats). Looking for low tension and 'ease of conversion' back from ti land.

just put sunbeams (45-105) on may jazz after having flats (chromes) on for a few months. they are pretty low tension for me. I've used them a few times before they seem to last and they are quite flexible which i guess can be attributed to their round core. The adjustment back seems good so far and its only been a couple of days.

Sunbeams are a good choice, probably. I run TI's on one bass and 'Beams on the other- I love them both.

Go with Nickel. Roundwound brightness with less "zing" and easier on the frets and fingerboard. To me, half wounds are the WORST of both worlds! All the grititness and drag of rounds and no tone.

I'm loving my Sunbeams, 45-105, so far. $23 from Musician's Friend, I think. I think they make a 45-95, as well - medium light gauge, I think?

40-95 seems awfully light to me. I find that medium Sunbeams (45-105) feel looser and more flexible than TI flats, which you are switching from. 40-95 would be like rubber bands.

elixir light guage are good ones, last forever too. If i were to go back to rounds id go with dr neons i have those on my stingray and they are my favorite ones. Dr fat beams get good reviews too, stainless steel but they don't eat the frets like some.

I tried exilir and did not like the tension. I have a very lightly used set id be willing to trade for another set say beams or similar in light guage (40 95).

May take the plunge but a lil on the steep side for me to "try" . May come to that if others fail. Thanks for the suggestion.
