Yeah, I checked the cables, the smaller end goes to the unit and they’re in all the way. If I turn down the buzz is less but then of course the rumble isn’t that great.
I did. They said it was normal. That’s why I want to know if anyone else has the same buzzing from their Backbeat. No one’s really telling me if theirs makes the same noise.
Just got mine today. At first I was really peeved about what I would call the buzzing/almost a rattling/grinding, for lack of a better descriptor. I'm guessing it's the same thing you've experienced. I know the higher I have the vibration turned up, the more noticeable it is. But I suppose that's part of the point. It's designed to rattle your body like sub. But even when I have it turned fairly low, if I get the unit too high on my strap, like closer to my shoulder, it buzzes terribly. But once it's back lower on the strap, it's fine. I understand that it is a sub in a plastic enclosure. But there is a narrow window of placement on the strap where I feel it is most effective. Too low and I don't feel the vibration. 1-2" higher, and the thing rattles something awful. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's twisting the casing so the rumbler rubs on the casing or knocks against it as it vibrates? Maybe the rumbler has to be more level - like vertically - and if it begins to approach a horizontal state of any kind it makes the whole thing rattle? I don't know. But that's the main thing I don't like so far. When I'm playing live, I often will tweak the position of my bass on my body . . . for the sake of comfort or showmanship. But with this, if I tilt the neck of my bass down a bit, resulting in the BB moving up higher on my back, it makes the thing rattle obnoxiously. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be or not.
