Double Bass Backpack or Cover for MAS 1/8

I have a MAS 1/8 coming soon. I wonder if anyone has a recommendation for a backpack or cover for the 1/8 cab. Thanks in advance!

I had Le Cover make a nice padded case for me. It has a side pocket for the AC Cable you’ll want to have them add a couple of zippers to the front. I’ll post some pictures in a bit.

Lots of great cover makers out there I’ve used either Tuki or Le Cover. There is a Studio Slips bag that a TBer had made but it added @ 5 lbs to the total weight. The Le Cover is thickly padded and lightweight.

I've got a Studio Slips bag, and it was "squared off" because getting the exact dimensions would have been cost prohibitive. It works great, offers excellent protection, and it's light enough to carry on my left side with my bass on the right.

Interestingly enough, I own a TEN2 Mooradian bag. The dimensions for the TEN2 and the 1/8 are almost the same. I am going to wait and see what the fit is like before I venture into other options. I'll circle back when I am able to fit the 1/8 into the bag. I'll let y'all know!

Moradian makes great padded covers, my Walter Woods case is over 20 years old with virtually no signs of wear.

Did you get one of these backpacks? If so, can you post a picture? How much was it?

My 2 cents but I think the 18 is just a bit too heavy and big to work well with a backpack system. A buddy was trying to get it to work for awhile but still just carries it I think. @Ben Rolston ?

I would tend to agree, expecially if you have one with the tweeter and power amp.

The backpack system that I tried from studio slips was indeed not-workable, the combination of the angles of the cab and the weight made it pretty unwieldy. I think it would be possible, but takes a little bit more engineering.

My take is that you're better off with a small cart to transport the powered MAS 1/8. It's a bit heavy for that.

That said, I live in the midwest where we drive to all out gigs. If you were taking public transportation ( which I wish we had here)

I can see why you'd want to use a backpack. It might be easier to get the non powered version and a small head slipped into

your bass case. Just a thought.
