I finally got more work done on it. I may take long breaks, but when I work, I work in bulk. I am preparing the top to be glued on. I secured the pieces to the body with screws, in area that will be routered or carved out. Now I need to prepare and sand the surfaces, and decide on a cut-out, if there even will be one, glue the pieces on, and trim it up. It should lot pretty cool after i clean up the edges!

BACON!

Been working on this thing since sophmore year of highschool, over 2 years ago. It's time to take take a break of my main project of procrastinating, and get it done, and to it's final owner, which unfortunately will not be me.
I started this one way back in about 2007. I then, lost access to the high school woodshop. I had to do much of the shaping with hand tools. I also owe a great thanks to a few friends around town for their help, as well.

Apologies on the way the images are posted, and the current lack of info. I haven't posted here in quite a while, and I'm in a bit of a hurry at the moment.
Chambered Ash body, Bloodwood-maple-bloodwood melted top with walnut accents, musicman basslines ceramic pickup with walnut cover (i am waiting on matching rosewood knobs in the mail). Bridge is Schaller roller bridge, raised quite a bit off the body, with a wooden raiser. Bloodwood fingerboard, with maple dots, 9.5" radius. The fretboard is also abnormally high from the top of the body. Glued neck, 5-piece. Quartersawn walnut-maple-bloodwood-maple-walnut. 2x2 headstock, non-angled, with sidemounted chrome Gotoh tuners. Passive wiring, just simple volume and tone.
(Half joking, only half.)

Honestly it reminds me more of steak than bacon, but I think it's a pretty neat design. Nice work.
Johny5Bass, no joke, I almost used that as the gag pic instead. It's the top image on googling of "bacon bass". LOL
