Bad day >:(

Boy, today is a bad day. First of all, I have 5 weeks worth of homework to make up all due tommorow. Second, I let my friend borrow my Mark Hoppus fender bass and barely got it returned today, with huge scratches, a chipped pole on the pickups and a completely unimaginably dirty fingerboard. To top it off, Ive lost almost all my hearing in my right ear from abusing my speaker system (and always sitting with my right ear towards the speakers). Sorry I'm complaining and all, but I'm just pissed off.

Why did you have 5 weeks worth of homework to catch up on? What have you been doing the past 5 weeks? I'm a slacker too. I also have a pile to homework to do that's due tomorrow.

Never let ANYONE borrow anything you want back. Especially something that can damage easily. I got some scratches on my bass too but I think it builds character. There's also a story for all the dents and nicks on my bass. In the end, it's just a bass. If the pick up is damaged, it can get replaced.

TURN DOWN YOUR MUSIC! You dont want to be 60 years old and yelling at kids because you think they cant hear you when you're the one that cant hear. Do you really want your ears ringing for the rest of your life?

Sorry, I'm mean but all these things can be preventable.

I have permanent hearing loss from 2 years of "stupid" volume practice and a few concerts in the same timeframe early on in college. Ringing loud enough at night to keep me awake. It takes less than you think.

I mean this with the best of intentions: stop being a moron and turn your ****ing stereo down.

Mike

Harsh words haha, but I do agree. And about the whole 5 weeks of homework, its because I had a illness and a surgery and missed tons of school and work, so they took me out and put me on private home study. They tell me about 2 days ago that I need to make up everything and they give me a truck load of work and homework to do by tommorow.

Matt

You know that the responses here must be universal truths when I am in 100% agreement with mike_v_s! LOL

:hiding:

And mike - I hear ya (through the persistent ringing in my ears) about how tragic and annoying hearing damage is...

Bear minimum, take care of the things you have control over. Protect your ears, protect your gear, take care of the things you are responsible for.

I do not for one single second believe that the school sent you five weeks of homework and only 2 days to do it if you were on home study for medical reasons.

What BFB said.

Plus, on the hearing loss, look at the bright side. When you grow up, and get married, you can make sure the ole' lady always stands on your right side, then you won't hear her incessant nagging.

Reminds me of that commercial with the ref getting yelled at without reacting... :smug:

You need a relief. Here's how to do it:

Throw away all your homework.
Go and kick your friends a**.
Get drunk and open your stereo to MAX!

Do that, get your relief and NEVER EVER do these again! ;)

j/k I just need a relief. :smug:
