Bad Grammar?

What drives me nuts are people who write posts here in nothing but sentence fragments. I stop reading a post right away if it's worded something like this:

"Band had rehearsal last night. Guitarist says he wants us to learn some new tunes. Says we're doing too many old ones and is getting bored. Makes sense. Drummer agrees and suggests that we... etc. etc."

Does anybody else here get annoyed by these shorthand sentence fractions? To me they just look lazy and uninspired. In addition they make for bad reading.

my pet peeve is posts that lack capitalization and punctuation it's something about the texting generation that believes these things aren't needed in online communication

.... when people defend their poor grammar or spelling by saying either (1) "I've just always been bad at [grammar or spelling]" or (2) "Blame it on my phone's spelling checker." (1) is not an explanation, but merely a restatement of the facts. More important, if you are writing on an internet-connected device, there is no excuse for not looking up the correct spelling or usage -- in which case not only will you write it correctly, but will also have learned something that might prevent you from continuing to make the same mistake in the future. In the electronic age especially, being a bad speller is a readily treatable condition. As for (2), the spell-checker is intended as a tool to help you find the right word/spelling, and it should be used as such. It is your responsibility to determine whether the spell-checker's guess about what you meant is indeed what you meant. It only takes a few seconds to proof-read your text before posting it.

"PAH, bad grammar doesn't bother me. As long as I can understand what someone is saying or trying to say.
What bothers me is people that insist on talking in business formal all the time. For some reason they thing that involves passive language. It takes too darn long to say what they want and half the time don't know what they are taking about. I don't have patience for all that. I like concise language.
O once saw guy teach a class on effective communication to a class that was mostly non native English speakers. He spoke in business formal. There were a lot of puzzled looks in the class but no one said any thing. What was he thinking? I'm sure it was great when he was presenting his masters thesis but I didn't fly in a room full of people from China, Mexico and the Philippines.
When did "people" become "individuals"?

What an odd thread.
Apparently, several members nuts are being driven? Specifically, what types of nuts are being referred to? Hazelnuts? walnuts? certainly not peanuts, since technically peanuts are classified as legumes. Perhaps this is a grammatical error on the part of the original poster. After observing the original posters shortcomings in other areas, I feel it's safe to speculate that the proper reference would have been to state that his testicles are irritated. But then that begs the question, as to why or more interestingly by what mechanism poor grammar is causing his testes, to become inflamed?

And what pray tell, are peeves? as another member has mentioned, and what is the benefit to take them in as pets?
