Are these just as good as the original Badass Bass II bridges?

If so, how do you slot the saddles without it looking like a hack job?

Start with a knife file. After you get your location established you can change to the appropriate rat tail/round.

I prefer the Ortega. It's more badass. Or the Omega 3 ... no that's eggs.
