This one is my personal sweetheart. It's the prototype of my Series IV model, s/n 060. I built it in 2006, and it's been my main bluegrass bass since then. Many hundreds of happy hours playing it.

It's black with fine red edging. I got the idea for that scheme from an old Ampeg that was sent to me for repair. It had been repainted black over the original red, and the black had worn through around the edges, leaving this thin red stripe. So, I duplicated that, spraying red, then black, then gently sanding through to the red at the edges before coating it with clear. Subtle from a distance, dramatic up close.

Are those 4 single-coil pu's vertically positioned? And are there 3 jacks? I'm trying to imagine what that would provide. Really cool bass.
