One black bass wasn't enough so I bought this, and if I can find a Dean Exotica in black for the right price, I might just give away the one I have now. New pickup and preamp next month. Anyone else find themselves wanting more black basses?
Yup. I currently have 2, and now I want to sell my black Jaguar body to get the body of this: ...to match my Fender Duff McKagan Bass neck.
Thanks! Here's my ever expanding thread that started with my already modded T2K into the Mk II version it now is - enjoy! http://www.talkbass.com/threads/black-blond-p-makeover.1087946/
Is there enough black on this bass conversion to qualify? I took an Epiphone Les Paul Express 22" scale guitar and switched to black tuners, black nut, black strings, black bridge and black Fender knobs.
This one is my personal sweetheart. It's the prototype of my Series IV model, s/n 060. I built it in 2006, and it's been my main bluegrass bass since then. Many hundreds of happy hours playing it. It's black with fine red edging. I got the idea for that scheme from an old Ampeg that was sent to me for repair. It had been repainted black over the original red, and the black had worn through around the edges, leaving this thin red stripe. So, I duplicated that, spraying red, then black, then gently sanding through to the red at the edges before coating it with clear. Subtle from a distance, dramatic up close.
