Baguley Haven Omnia Pickups

Hi Danga,
actually I just registered because I saw your post and wanted to chime in.
Yep, it's processed in a similar way I treat my private bass sound in a band context: Frequency split, compressed low end and gritty top end.

But I could tell a little about the concept.
My quad coil design dampens the resonance peak down and offers a narrow magnetic aperture to get a controlled low end and all around balanced frequency response while the cutoff can be set basically where you like to have it. This works best with people who like to dig into the tone a lot with pedals or digital platforms - the signal accepts a LOT of alteration.
Another perk is the four coil arrangement - it allows to split the pickup and still get a hum free signal with all the single coil twang.

With the one from the demo it's a middle way between output (which gets higher the darker the pickup's voicing gets and vice versa) and clarity - enough to get some top end grit but not super presence-heavy, but I do wind custom pickups with people who wish to have more or less clarity or output.

I'll a couple of DI's from my personal main bass in a second, showing different configurations FYI.

Best,
Till // Haven Pickups

here we go. The cutoff of a single pickup is around 8-10Khz when in parallel and progressively shifts downward when split or switched to series wiring.
vice versa, in those clips with two pickups they're wired in parallel to each other, so more clarity is induced.

My personal favorite is both pickups in series, I do 90% of my sounds based on that voicing.

Excuse my sloppy playing haha

Thanks Till! Appreciate the detailed response and for sending the different pickup combinations clean. They sound down my ally. Generally I like to hear the pickups clean before effects or processing. This gives me a much better idea of how they sound.
