Some of you may recall this thread I posted two years ago about my son's wanton destruction of my Ampeg rig:
Anger management and rig repair
I finally got around to fixing it, and am pretty happy with the results! The Fender-ish grill cloth on the V4 and matching Low Down Sound 1x15 cab turned out to be a winner. I fixed the speaker using the tissue-paper-watered-down-elmer's-glue method that someone suggested in the thread above. That was the easy part of the repair, so I was able to test it several times over the last year before finally getting to the grill cloth this last week. The speaker repair is holding just fine and the cab sounds great.
My son is older and wiser. I think the two years that I took to get it all fixed gave him some pause to consider the consequences of his actions. He is much less destructive now, and is actually taking an interest in playing the bass.
