turns out the current band I'm in (in addition to having much more drama than I thought there would be), has a couple of junkies in it which really pisses me off.
One is recovered...the other...got busted recently trying to score H...lost everything in the process..I can't say too much about it on here but it really pisses me off for several reasons. I want to play but don't want to be around people involved in that stuff, also I like to smoke some herb now and than at rehearsal, and i have to deal with some recovered addict who complains that being around MJ doesn't help his recovery process.
Honestly if I were the BL and found out the guys in my band were involved with heroin they'd be told to pack up and leave no matter how good they are.

Good news: H users are usually functional musically.
Bad News: Your gear will start disappearing, members will be late, absent.
My replacement in my first high school band was a fantastic guitarist. ODd on H 2 months later. I got out in time.
Public service announcement: DO NOT EVER SNORT H, NOT EVEN ONCE. YOU WILL GET HOOKED.
Quentin Tarantino told me if you snort H you might be lucky and have someone draw a lipstick dot over your heart and ram a giant syringe of adrenaline into it, or else you are dead.
I worked with a singer back in the early 2000's that was an amazing guy..... he had a voice, he had stage presence and could work a room like no one I'd ever seen or worked with before. We were in a cover band and he could nail anything from Queensryche, Night Ranger, Iron Maiden all the way down to 3 Doors Down. After the band split in 03 I had always hoped to work with him again......
Fast forward to 2017 and his alcohol demons got the best of him...... what one was, no longer was. He was a shadow of his former self and it disappointed me greatly to see it..... wasted talent is an understatement.
What's really strange is myself and my guitarist are both alcoholics but we function...... Imagine the irony of two drunks firing a drunk.

If you drink 3 or more beer or liquor shots a day, it wouldnt hurt to check your liver enzymes (AST,ALT) and you platelet count annually, especially if you are overweight, have high blood sugar or had your gall bladder out. You are at higher risk for liver disease.
