Bandmates and your basses

I was in a band once and when I got out my six-string one of the guitarists loudly proclaimed, "I'm going to get wire cutters!). I am no longer part of that aggregation.

My band does a lot of country and likes the look of my Gretsch 5123. Sound wise, they don't have a preference between the half-dozen different basses I've played with them.

Why? Simple. No matter what bass I play, it sounds like me.
