Bands that singers ruin...

Nirvana. Curt Cobain made me want to punch my radio......and still does even from the grave.

He was worse at singing than he was at guitar......and that's saying something. Still, the band as a whole could rock out some music on occasion. I would literally let one of their songs play right up until he was about to vomit into a mic.
I never liked them even. Not even in the 90s when I was a teenager. Oooohh I have so much angst. Look at me I'm filthy and I don't even have to be good at the guitar. I'm sooooo cool.

Boooooo.

In modern times, P-Funk. The bands that George puts together are still top notch after all of these years, but his voice is GONE GONE GONE.
I know this is from 3 years ago, but since this thread was recently revived, I had to chime in.

You're definitely not wrong about Clinton's voice, but there aren't that many songs where George has the lead vocal all on his own, and when he does, half of the time it's a rap anyway. His voice may be too shot even for rapping, but its not like he tries to do all of the things Fuzzy or Calvin or Glen or Garry used to do, he hires vocalists for that.

my vote would be Aerosmith, if I thought anything of the band itself. But that's a singer I can't really stand.

Shadowfax:

I *loved* their debut album, and I think G.E.Stinson is one of the most creative guitarists making music then and today...but holy-mother-of-god, whose idea was it to let him sing on a number?!?!
