I paid Triungulo (Will Galluccio) for one of these highly rated filters on September 1st 2022. I’ve inquired about the status of my order about 10 times on email, Facebook, and on the builder’s website. Not even an acknowledgement was forthcoming. What the hell? ***?

I don’t know if I have any recourse. I probably won’t ever see my money or a pedal. Even if I do, what is with this nonexistent communication???

I’ve had good luck with small builders so far. I guess my luck just ran out.

Triungulo Lab - Warning

Heads up on Triungulo Lab

I was very interested in the Barbanera, one of the few pedals that is made not too far from where I live, but if I order something I don’t want to see my name publicly on a waiting list on a website.

That and reading that he doesn’t respond to almost anything I decided to look somewhere else and landed on an iron ether xerograph deluxe.

Still I don’t understand why he is the only one doing a mf 101 clone in a world where there are countless tubescreamer and muff variants released all year long.

I haven’t read anything about people not getting their pedals, but when is another story.

Almost all pedals are "out of stock", with a message:
"This is a PREORDER. This product is not in stock. If you buy, you will appear on the waiting list. Ships when more units are available."

Did you contact them to ask for lead time before buying?
His website gives the lead times. Max is 5 months and we are now at 4 months. Yes, I know there are about 10 days to go. But not replying to any of my attempted contacts is not ok. He redid the website accounts so it seems he is still active. He “implies” he will respond to queries. Stupid me for wanting to make sure he was still planning to deliver I guess.

I’m sorry that you’re having such an unsatisfactory experience.

In my prior experience it usually takes Will 3-14 days to respond to emails, which seems par for the course form most builders, so I’m surprised you’ve heard nothing on any platform. When did you first make contact?

It’s been a couple of months I think. It is weird, hopefully he’s ok.

I ordered CE-1 clone from Will and everything went to plan. There is a long wait because he is a one man show and it meticulous. Also, this is a side hustle for him. I would expect you will get your pedal

Hello, Will from Triungulo Lab here.

I am sorry about the lack of replies, at some point my email has been flooded of emails and having to build pedals, source parts, deal with some old website issues plus running a day-job basically put me off replying consistently to emails.

You can sleep safe you will receive your pedal without any issue, it's just a matter of time.

Right now I'm in the process of hiring someone to reply to emails to make this process less harsh for customers (I understand the frustration).

About the public name onto the waiting list, you guys can always put a "nickname" in that field while ordering, and add your real name onto the billing address.

I hope this replies to all of your questions.

PS: the Barbanera isn't actually just an MF101 "clone" but it has got its own LFO section which extends the possibilities of the Moog pedal.

Hi!

I wanted to let you know that I also ordered a Barbanera back on April 2022 (that's 9 months ago), and I am still far behind on the wait list. So I would recommend you to be patient and not expect your Barbanera anytime soon. Despite the site warning "Pre-order can take 5 months (worst case scenario)" real times at this moment are way longer than that.

I'm copying below my timeline so far (I knew this would be a long trip, so I wanted to record it, to share my experience with others). I advanced some 40 places in 9 months and am currently on 23rd place, so I assume I still have some 4 or 5 months ahead. I am not implying this is a good or a bad thing, I read online before purchasing and knew what I was signing for, so I'm just sharing this for informational purposes. And looking forward to enjoy my Barbanera once it finally comes.

Suddenly I jumped up about 40 places in the list and my Barbanera appeared!

Today I messed with it for the first time, comparing it to my IE Xerograph Deluxe, which I haven't used much yet either.
They both sound great, and different. I couldn't reproduce the tone or feel of either one on the other.

The XD is more flexible, clean, and modern sounding. It has up and down sweep, which I love. It is higher fidelity for sure. And using it as a static LPF brings the dub thunder in a big way. It's clean and the controls do predictable things. The 2-pole doesn't have nearly as much mojo as the 4-pole. Sweeping the frequency with the resonance up is gloriously synthy.

The Barba is kind of dirty sounding. No down sweep. It doesn't do the dub filter as well, the extreme lows seem to be missing, and it's cool but not the same. But what it has is plenty of stank-face. It groans and growls and it has a nice on-the-edge area where I can easily partially trigger the envelope by altering my touch. Very expressive. Also, it can control the filter cutoff with an LFO. I don't know how much I would use that, but it's cool.

So with a couple of hours of play time, I think the Barba gets the nod right now. I would like to keep both, but that would be silly and overkill, right?
