Barefaced... best cab ever made?

Lads... i cannot express or articulate how stupidly amazing my new Super Twin barefaced cab is.

I have played hartke, ampeg, fender, GK, trace elliot cabs and this thing is insane in comparison.

Emailed alex from barefaced to figure out what i needed to replace my ampeg 4x10 hlf and dear god did he get it right.

Its like i have a new bass and head... the nuances in harmonics, clarity, true representation of my playing and tone... lol i cant hide with this thing and its making me a better player.

The power this thing has is more than the ampeg! And instead of the weight of a dead horse it was about 18kg!?

I really dig my Supertwin as well. It's so portable that there's no need to ever consider something smaller. Something bigger would just be over-kill. I did an outside gig with mine using my YBA-300. My master was set on about 2 1/2 and gain on 5. The cops came because of a complaint. Someone from a park over a mile away said the bass was too loud.
I will say that My Avatar B210 Neo sounds almost as good and keeps up just fine with loud drummers. I use them together sometimes and the sensitivity is almost identical. The Avatar has the early Eminence Delta-II's @ 8Ohm each. The cab was rated at 600 Watts(1200 peak).
Anyhow, I love them both but of course the ST is on a whole other level.

As the proud owner of some Barefaced cabs....as well as Mesa Subway cabs and AudioKinesis cabs, the answer to your question is actually.....no. Not THE best. But among the best!

I recently had a SM, BBII, and SC and now have a pair of Hathor 1203's. If you want loud and light the BF cabs are good, but tonally the AK cabs are in another league.

I think the Acmes actually sound better but after using them for years, I knew what I wanted and it was the Super Twin. It is my most expensive piece of gear but I don't regret that decision. I have played a Fearless 1x12 and it's incredible too. What was the question again?

if you think it's the best cab ever made, it just means you bought the right one. Congrats :)

for me its always a gamble. I dont have guitar centers with millions of pieces of git i can just walk in and try out, I have to look endlessly online and look at youtube vids lol and this time sure did pay off. and the lads are right next door in the UK which makes it even better... for me :P

..... ermm, probably not :eyebrow:

probably more like the best you (the OP) personally ever heard.

cool that you like what you just bought though. Lots of great cabs out there for different needs and expectations.

Yeah thats a fair point, but the super twin actually shocked me...and not one bit of false advertisement or BS... I got to talk with Alex who owns the company, designed and built these the amps... thats pretty insane to get that level of advice and service.

To my ears this thing just has a certain magic and clarity I've never heard from a cab, i suppose its all subjective and yeah there are a lot of great cabs out there for different needs and expectations, but to me it seems like barefaced can do them all in... one cab, at a stupidly small and low weight. which is nuts!
