Bart preamp in Ibanez BTB with CAP Sonic Arch pups

I have a 2014 BTB7 with CAP pickups.. long, skinny pickups with no viable replacement options without routing the pockets..
I'm ordering a Bartolini HR-5.4AP/918 preamp (5 knobs with push/pull and switchable mid) to install on this bass, hoping to really wake it up.
Has anyone tried a Bart preamp with these particular pickups?

Seems you aren't so sure whether it's the pickups or the preamp that has gone wrong.

I have a 2016 BTB7 with the same CAP Sonic Arch pickups, but according to the hoshinogakki website, has a different preamp than previous BTB7 2013 until early 2015 builds. I don't know whether yours could do this or not, but mine has a mini switch that can make the bass still outputting the sound with the battery removed when put to passive mode. So, in the case the battery is depleting or died during play, I can still continue using the bass. But, this also functions as a method to check if the pickup ever goes bad.

Anyhow, changing the stock preamp to Bart HR-5.4AP/918 should still be considered an upgrade, whether it has gone bad or not.
