Bartolini into StingRay5

I've got a '93 StingRay5 and am trying to wire in a Bartolini MV5CBC pickup. The original pickup is wired directly to the circuit board. My issue is that the 'suggested' wiring schematic from Bartolini (as stock wiring) shows different colored wires than what my bass has.
Mine are blk, wht, yel & grn which kind of corresponds to what they say would wire directly to the lever switch, which of course, mine doesn't.

Anyone familiar with this?
Should I just go for it and see what happens!? HA!

Assuming the pups have the same number of leads, all you'd need to do is make a wiring diagram of the existing MM connections, remove the existing pup wire in the Bart in accord with the MM. You'll probably have 4 leads for each pup - start and finish to each coil. You could always put the original back in per your diagram.

Yep, that's how the 4 string Ray pup is. I've got one laying around here somewhere. Just run the extra ground to the Bart to common ground.

I'd keep the old pup for resale of the bass for guys like Singray 5. Fact is you may not like the Bart anyway. Haven't had the CB model MM but their others don't sound like Alnico 5's, they sound more like LP's. In fact I've heard the CB's sound more like LP's than the Barts I've had.

I've liked the barts in my Pbass and enjoyed their Jbass pups in the past as well. I'm just lookin' for a little inspiration for the SR5 - maybe I won't find it in the CB series either. I'm hoping bartolini will get me an update for this situation, but can't hold my breath much longer... been waiting months!
It seems to me that the B string is a bit sloppy - any thoughts on the idea of running that string thru the body? I've seen that on the Mike Lull basses.

Don't play 5's so don't have to deal with that. To my knowledge a string-thru has absolutely no effect on tone. Still ends at the saddle no matter where the ball-end locks. All that comes to mind there is different strings or a longer scale bass.

Sounds to me like the Bartolini has four wires plus ground, while the EB MM has only four wires total.

Do you have access to a multimeter? If so, I would check to find out which pair of wires goes to which coil on the EB pickup, then do the same on the Bart. Once you've identified that, you should be able to simply hook up each pair to the switch, with the ground to a ground point somewhere.

On my Bartolini humbucker, the coil output pairs are red/green (neck), black/white (bridge).

OK, guys, here's the deal; thanks so much for reading my thread and for the great advice and helpful suggestions, but we can end it here...
I'm a newbie to TB and after spending a bit of time looking around and reading some very insightful info and comments, for the time being I'm going to leave the stock pup in the SR5.
I've come to realize that I probably need to get out more and what I really need for inspiration is a couple of new bass cabs and a good drummer! THANKS AGAIN
Maybe look for me elsewhere as I try to decide cabs for my rig - I really appreciate your help!
