Yikes. The more I dig into my very modified Modulus Quantum 5 banger the worse this thing gets.
I shot off several messages to Bart, but no response.
Here is what I have -
Neck Pickup - 66M 45C B
Bridge Pickup - 68M 45C T
Preamp is a NTMB 9v (no number other than that)..
Problem 1 - Neck pickup is at 4.14K.. Bridge is at 9.24K.. I am not really sure if that is a problem, but the neck pickup seems to be really weak..
Problem 2 - The NTMB System should have a 3 position toggle switch for 250/500/800 Mids. Mine (as wired) does not. Mine has a Push/Pull knob that seems to be working the 250/500 and the 800 is compeletely bypassed/non-existant. Everything else on the NTMB wiring diagram seems to be wired and colored correctly...
Problem 2 is a much easier fix, IMHO, since I just have to put a proper 50K pot in and find somewhere to drill a whole and add a switch and the proper parts for the preamp to be correct.
Problem 1 is seemingly going to be the difficult part. I am not really sure, but I think that 1/2 my pickup is out. Why would it read so little?
Now I am not doing any of this by myself. I have a trained electronics guy doing the work..Scoping the p'ups and values and working with the diagram to see what is up..
Oh.. My Modulus Q5 was born a Q5SS (Probably with 18v EMG system) and someone in their infinate wisdom converted it to a standard Q5 with Bart p'ups and electronics.
