I just read in the new issue of Bass Player April 2014, the announcement of the NTMB+, it's the same as the predecessor, but 30% smaller. It also boasts a lower noise floor.
To me, this seems as it might make it easier for the every day hobbiest to make the install themself, as opposed to paying your tech to make the modification for you.
