I live near Nashville, and went to Carter Vintage last week. I left with no apparent gas, guitar acquisition syndrome, or mas mandolin acquisition syndrome. Drove home and continued shopping. I have been looking for a long neck Gibson double cut bass for some time now. I did Google search and what popped up but a 2007 Gibson Les Paul DC Bass. It arrived from Australia two days ago. It has a short that developed during transit and I have my local guitar guy repairing it now. The look and feel is amazing. It has some truly spectacular figured wood on the top, with mahogany back and neck. The body is relatively small but the scale is long. The tone, when not feeding back is deep and rich, just what I was hoping for. A solid sound for most non metal music. I will post pictures when I get it back, if I can stop playing it long enough. So BAS, Bass Aquistion Syndrome, as opposed to GAS, that I associate with Martin like acoustics, is alive and well.
