bass amp acoustics

I play in a rock band and rehearse in a small room. I have a 125 watt GK amp but my drummer plays really loud and cant really be heard. Someone told me that the problem is the room, that in smaller lower frequencies get cut out. So do I have to play in a bigger room? or does it have to do with the amp placement and do I have to position it somewhere else like against the wall for it to be heard better?

You need to tell the drummer about "dynamics" and get him to play with some control.

You could also put some sound board around the drummer to quiet him/her down. It's cheap and can be found at your local big box hardware store.

Then everyone can turn down.

Get some ear plugs, btw. Your ears will thank you.
