You amp is rated 300W at 4 ohms. That means with a 4 ohm cabinet, the amp can put out the full 300 watts. With an 8 ohm cab, it will deliver less than 300W, not necessarily 150W, it could be more. It depends on the amp.
Check the back of the cab to see if it is 8 or 4 ohms.
With an 8 ohm cab, be careful as mentioned above. Listen for bad distortion, a mechanical flubbing. If you heat it, turn down. It isn’t just down to the volume level, but also the low end EQ level. Turning the bass up is like turning the volume up in terms of the output level.
