Bass Amp Suddenly Stopped Working

I was playing my bass guitar the other day and everything was fine. Yesterday I went to play and my amp isn't working. It's a Dinosaur DB-50 which is a solid-state amp. First, I checked the fuse. It's good. Second, I checked that all the wires are connected. They are. Third, I checked the wires with a voltage tester (simple one that lights up if there's power). They are getting power. There haven't been any abnormal noises or malfunctions prior to this and the speaker is not blown. I've also noticed the power light doesn't come on now when I turn the power on.

I played my bass on a friend's amp using my cable and they are working fine.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong and how to fix it?

Could be a bad power switch, failed connection in the amp's line power, open primary or secondary on the power transformer (depends on where the power light power comes from). Burned out power lamp and signal from the preamp to power amp interrupted. Lots of possibilities including a bad power cord (if the wall socket is supplying power).

yeah. I figured that. I was just checking to see if anyone could tell me what's wrong and how to fix it so I wouldn't have to pay for a repair.

Remember that whatever you have to pay to have your amp repaired is a lot less than your life is worth.

Too many variables, even if that unit has a common failure that would not mean yours has that same fault.

There are many folk on this site who could repair your amp if it was in our hands. Across the net it's not so simple.
