I'd try any cheap wired headphones you might have lying around. Inexpensive headphone amps have issues driving studio headphones that require more power or have higher impedance.

Given your newly stated grim financial condition I cannot recommend spending a single penny on musical gear at this time. You said you have no money, a broken laptop, a past-due phone bill, you "can't manage my money very well" and have "no budget to speak of".

Friend, you're setting off more red flags than a May Day parade. Put this idea away for now and tend to setting straight your life. Best of luck. ☮️

Nothing at all wrong with the Mustang Micro. I use one with good headphones and it can get the sound you are looking for. Try the following:

1. Use Preset 56: "DI Funk"
2. Press the EQ button on the side of the unit until you hit EQ 9.
3. Profit

One thing to mention is that you don’t want headphones which are particularly bass heavy, otherwise you’ll really compromise the sound. Especially when playing along with music, you need something more neutral, with a wide sound stage so that everything is spaced out and not congested. Comparing headphones on my headphone rig at home, the difference is really obvious. So just because you play bass, DONT get bass heavy headphones.

You need a dirt cheap solution with what you got, I hear you.

Here's where to start:
Check your local classifieds for a small mixer. Behringer Xenyx series or comparable. Make sure it has a headphone out and a three band EQ on at least one channel. Something like this goes second hand for about $20. This will give you simple means of EQ plus a headphone out that will drive your AKG cans properly, and it should already feel like a step up, since now you can actively boost the bass, making up for the not-optimal response of your headphones.

Next would be software. Try and see if you can get the Neural Amp Modeler software running on your laptop. It's free.
The Valeton GP-5 pedal retails for around $80 and it's able to run NAM profiles.
You set up your sounds in the software, transfer the files to the pedal, and you'll have tones for days, way better than they have any right to be at that price point.
That's what I'd do if I had to build a home rig with the tightest budget.

I don't even know what a preset is. Is it the one called "amp" ? Do you know where I can find a manual or something? I think my strings are the best for deep Bass without any amplifier ? I do know what EQ is but I don't know what EQ 9 is. Do you just click it 9 times? This is my favorite reply BTW. What's "profit"?

Thanks the AKG 240 headphones don't seem to be "bass heavy.

My mustang Micro headphone amplifier is different from the manual. Red circles show my micro button is labeled "modify" and the "F" in the manual with the FX level button

I have a interface thing but my computer USB doesn't work anymore and I don't have any way of fixing it until I get it back from my current caregiver so that my aunt can tell my cousin how to fix it.

I see I didn't tell you what I was having trouble with. I'm trying to get this picture on a avatar thing or whatever it's called where you have a little picture next to your name. I got the banner working but it's not what I want. Sorry I wasn't saying what I need to say. Sometimes I get that way and think I wrote something but I didn't. It's all part of having amnesia.

Long forgotten Glarry GB-20 Bass amplifier. Took it out of the closet and decided to see if I can play anything with it and have it sound any good at all. Aside from some humming I think it's okay.
