Hello, I'm thinking of getting a new distortion pedal for bass and I would like to know what you guys think is the best? The Bass Big Muff Electro Harmonics or the EBS Metaldrive? I'd like a distortion sound that sounds closely to Cliff Burton's but also so that I can have it with a light distortion when playing metal songs.

Buy the used Iron Ether QF2 on the classifieds. It splits your bass signal into 4 parts, low, low mid, high mid,highs. You dial in the amount of distortion for each of the 4 bands, it has a clean blind, it has a gain boost witha switch for 3x or 10x and this does not affect the volume. This is the premier bass distortion pedal, I think.
Too late, I decided to buy it...I have had one before and have missed it a bunch. Sorry to recomend it and then buy it, but it has been on my mind for awhile.
Another option is the EBS Valvedrive, it has 2 voices and uses a real tube for the OD. There is one currently for sale in the classifieds. Nevermind, I just bought it (JK
