so im not that overweight but whenever i play bass standing the top tilts toward me and the bottom tilts away. it makes playing chords especially high up the neck very difficult. i have the bass strap in a standard location really unless im doing it wrong idk. If you could help thatd be great thanks

Try a longer strap setting? Or holding the bass differently, more on the diagonal helps. I have this issue if the strap is too short, the instrument rides more on top of the belly than in front of.

Adjust the strap so the bass rides on a flatter/less curvaceous spot on your frontal profile. I'm trying to be sensitive here.
Mine rides on the flat of my gut.
Too high on the chest and the right wrist becomes bent excessively, and the left wrist is also awkwardly placed/bent leading to CTS . Some people think it's cool looking though.

Seriously?

Whatever works for you would be the perfect length. You could adjust the strap till the bass is riding high on your chest...or you could adjust it till it's down at your knees. Somewhere in between is the answer to getting rid of that bothersome tilt. Experiment a little.

What brand and model of bass are we discussing?
