I have an idea for a build but I have no skills and no tools. I would like to learn to design and build this bass from someone who has a properly equipped shop. I know of the Chicago School of Guitar Making, run by Specimen Guitar, but all said and done it would cost me about $2,000 plus wood, electronics and hardware to get this thing done. Does anybody know of any other options in the Chicago area?

$2k + materials is really cheap.
I would have to charge much more than that just to have a newbie covered by my insurance. Know a good deal when you see it.
