Mesa D-800 or D800+ are both excellent choices. I would also recommend the GK MB500 or 800. I think the Mesas sound a little better, but the GKs are more economical and still sound awesome.

I've been gawking at the mesa subway 800+, wd800, and the darkglass 900. I'm paralyzed by indecision and the lack of options for trying either out in a store. I think I'm leaning towards the darkglass but it's a ton of money to buy without trying it.

What type of gospel playing? Clean, pristine, or are you looking for a little bit of extra warmth and maybe a little drive/guts to your sound? I have seen the Aguilar ToneHammers and almost any GK used in the "Shout Gospel" role a lot and they always sound great.

Do you have any previous good or bad experience with any heads? What are some features that you want or don't want?

I'm planning to add a ToneHammer and a Mesa TT800 to my stable as well. Best of luck in your search!
