Bass Cat

This is why I play standing most of the time. But I gave my cat a job in cable management with this system. Though stepping on cables is no longer a problem, stepping on a cat has become an issue.

If she's not doing that she is usually leaned up against the speaker cab. I guess my playing is cat approved.

If you guys (and gals) haven't noticed, since the animals were introduced, the following has been kept to... nil:

No snide, nor snarky remarks...

No, 'My bass is better than your bass...'

No, 'My amp blows yours out of the water...'

No complaints about how many gigs you have to get ready for...

Just... doggies... and kitties... with instruments... as it should be.

Cool story. My Stupid Kat hates guitars but tolerates the bass.

Side note: A friend of mine said to be very careful when tossing used strings. I guess the skin, sweat, and salt built up on them is irresistible to dogs and maybe cats.

True about the strings and cats. We had a cat that always wanted to chew on loose guitar strings. I think it was more the jangly sound it made than anything else. The thinner the string the better. We were always afraid she'd impale an eye or something on one when we were changing strings.

We're down to just dogs now that we stopped getting a new kitten the minute one of our older cats passed on. Things have gotten considerably easier for us since then.

I just have one question:

What's the best cat to have around for playing metal?

This is Ryan, one of my fave friends and next door neighbor ... songwriter, guitarist, and gutteral growler from the band Addaurra. He's in the book holding his buddy 'Bill&Ted' (RIP ) Ryan also cuts my hair. Good dude >
