Bass Choice - Warning: Noob

Nah, thinking more about my family, and what happens to my stuff when I kick the bucket. I'm definitely going to haunt whoever gets my stuff, fair warning.

I'm leaning toward Markbass. Once upon a time, I had a Hartke head and a SVT cabinet, but that is overkill. I'm not playing out any more.

I'm planning on taking at least one of my basses with me!

Other than that, I wish I'd never sold my Markbass CMD-121 P.
When I'm just going over songs I already know or learning something new, I use this, though...70 watts!

Yeah, I stopped playing bass '91/'92. I play classical and jazz guitar, but my bass chops... believe me, I'm a noob.

I have and love a Lakland 5502. I've played a 5594 and it is a cut above. The 5502 is as good as one needs, and the 5594 is as good as possible. I vote Lakland.

Even though I've heard plenty of great reviews about Phil Jones amps, I was still surprised.
Expensive?
Compared to the price of so many basses lately, I don't think so.
Worth it?
Every penny!
My buddy told me there was no way it could produce a nice thumping tone, but he changed his mind when he heard it.
My Ibanez Promethean P3110 was my main practice amp, another small bass that sounds big, but I've been using the PJB exclusively for the past few months.
All those other practice amps?

If you have the means get that monarch. Chances are that if you get the bass you want the most you'll enjoy playing more than if you get something else as a compromise. Both companies are amazing builders so objectively you're good either way but if it's Fodera you're eyeballing the hardest it's Fodera you should get. Don't worry about your lack of skills and feeling unworthy. Get it and spend some learning it and you'll be in great shape.

I honestly had no clue their finishes were this nice. Their online gallery does not do them any justice. This is a beautiful instrument. Congrats.
