Bass chorus

Plenty of great suggestions here that I'd like to try :)
I've bought the EHX Neo Clone before the Bass Clone was released, and I love it. It maybe cuts a little bit of lowend, but sounds great. Most of the times I prefer it in comparison with my second DYI chorus, it's more sparkly and I hear better, that it's working.
There is no volume drop with the Bass Clone.

Although I grew up in the 80s, chorus is not my favorite effect. I like a clear sound and chorus tends to thicken it and make it muffled. If I need this type of sound, I look for the most transparent one. That's why I like the Boss CEB-3, because it affects only the higher frequencies.

When I use chorus, I like the chorus on my Southampton Utility Knife.

I’ve really liked these for bass:

Boss Waza CE-2
EHX Bass Clone
Tech 21 Boost Chorus
MXR Analog Chorus

I finally settled on the Southampton Utility Knife modulation. All four effects sound top notch, including chorus.

I love the chorus sound that Anthony Jackson has. When I found out he used the Jam Waterfall, I went and bought it. Great Chorus Pedal. They make a bass model hand made and hand painted. For me its the perfect bass chorus.

I play a lot of 80's music so I have to use chorus a lot.
My main use of chorus is with some multi fx units like my Line 6 HX Stomp or Boss MD-500. Those have all the chorus I need.
But recently I've been using a Joyo Analog Chorus, that's a Boss CE-2 clone, and it's a real buckte brigade chorus that sounds great and sells for a very low price. If you want to try to see if you like I really recomend it.

All of my basses are passive.

Thanks. My Spector one and only is active. I was gassing for the Utility Knife for a while hoping to keep my board small for band#1. When I got it I was very disappointed in its chorus and flanger modes compared to seperate single enclosures of both I already have (ehx bass clone chorus, & tc vortex + a Donner jet convolution flangers... which are much much more versatile.) The flanger is passable but the chorus is really really dark sounding, and it's difficult to not overdrive the SUK with volume near unity. I'm starting to think it's my active bass being the culprit  Rats

Maybe, I really can't say. I have never owned an active bass.

The Utility Knife works well for me, but different strokes and all, you know.

I use the chorus more than the other effects on it. I'm still experimenting with the rest. I like them all, though.

So let’s cut to the chase,
Just take out a second mortgage, and go for the 1976 Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble..
:woot:

Yeah I wish I could do that too..
All Kidding aside,
Got hip to Chorus on bass when I first heard Ged use it on the beginning of “The Trees”..
Years later, I bought the little brown bass-specific job brand new when it came out...
had it ever since..
built like a tank, been working for over 33 years with no problems, sounds like Chorus to me, Keeps the Low End, and nobody’s ever complained..:bassist:
