bass combo for Marcus Miller jazz bass

Hi

I'm looking for bass amp about 100 W (or more).
I going to buy new guitar MM (4 ) jazz bass.

I play only at home, in my room.
Max 350 euro, new or used.

I want to have warm and dynamic sound.
"Aux in" is important.

Can you say something about it ?

I have the G-K MB110 bass combo amp and I love it. The MB110 also has Aux in, Headphone, DI, and Chain outputs.

Out of the three popular high powered 10" bass combos the GK MB110 is the lightest in weigh and the smallest in size - also there is no money wasted on unnecessary junk like built in effects, etc.

Gallien-Krueger MB110 - $299.99
Size: 14.5”H x 12.5”W x 11.5”D
Weight: 21lbs
Power: 100W

Ibanez Promethean P3110 - $349.99
Size: 14.4H x 17.7W x 21.7D
Weight: 37.4lb
Power: 300W

Carvin MB10 - $269 + $25 shipping - $294.00
Size: 18.5”H x 12.75"W x 11.5"D
Weight: 26.1 lbs
Power: 200W

TC Electronic BG250-208 - $499.99
Size: 18.3”H x 12.6”W x 11.5”D
Weight: 25.9 lbs.
Power: 250W

Hi dezoo! Welcome and great question. First congrats on your choice of a Fender Marcus Miller Jazz Bass! :hyper:

I agree with Joe that the new GK combos are aces.

SWR as a brand has been 'put on the shelf' by parent corporation, Fender. SWR just wasn't selling well enough to keep itself alive in this ultra-tight economy.

SWR's 'LA' line of combos were it's least expensive units and never did catch on. That's a very hard market to compete in.

Since Fender is available world wide and is very competitive, do yourself a favor and take a close look and listen to Fender's Rumble line of combos. They are very afforadable; sound great, and are rugged/built to last. They also have all the features you are looking for.

Also take a good long look at Fender's Bronco 40 bass amp. Loaded with tons of features. You'll never believe that a bass amp this small with only 40 watts can sound this good, but it does!

Happy Hunting! :)

Ok. Thanks for advice.
I have Hartke 35 A.
Sounds nice, but I need biger speaker to make warmer bass.

My music is first of all Marcus Miller, I looking for similar tone.
I like play funk also .

So, new amp will play jazz and funk.

Fender Rumble is great combo but is it good to play jazz ?

Sure is! Look & listen to both the Rumble 150, and the 350. The Rumble 350 combo gets it's look and design heritage directly from the world famous SWR Redhead combo. You could play any jazz gig on the planet. I have the Rumble 350 head and love it. I also play through a Rumble 75 combo for personal practice and also for small gigs with a jazz guitarist. Excellent full range tone. If you are going to slap; funk, and jazz like MM you really do need a 410 cab and 350-500 watts to get that kind of tone. Just remember that only Marcus Miller actually sounds like Marcus Miller. ;)

Is it not to small speaker (10) in Promethean ?

I think about "Rumble" beacause is eazy to get used combo.
But I have to now, is this amp playing good sound if I set very low volume ?

I heard that a lot of amps (100 W and biger) are playing very bad when volume is minimum...

My Hartke A35 have another trouble - when I use drum machine (aux in) and bass guitar togheter in the same time, drum sound volume is going down .

Mainly if I play louder.

I get info that compressor is guilty.

So, is very important for me to get combo without this problem.

3,5 x 4 m2

I can't check "GK" in Poland, they don't have it in the shops.

I"m not going to play loud, sound qality is important.

Especialy when volume is low.

Yeah, G-K sound quality is excellent. But I didn't know you were in Poland, or that you can't get/buy G-K gear in Poland. Oh well, never mind then and good luck with your search.

Cheers,
Joe
