Bass destroyed by flood... Help

I forgot a Guild JSII in the bed of my pick up. It had been rained on for about 6 hours and the water had pooled up in the case. It ended up being almost fine. the only long term damage was a little bit of bubbling in the finish by the rear pup.

Fix the fury or sell it to someone who will. Electronics can be replaced and the moisture can be sucked out of the word. Really not hard to save at all.

Out of the three you're looking at, can't really go wrong with any of them. Mahogany and preamps just make a bass too heavy, imo, and don't add much for tone (assuming you run through an amp which pretty much all have EQ nowadays).

One nice thing about the Washburn is the small body is actually quite light, in spite of the mahogany. And it is passive.

I would mostly be concerned about whether the neck stays straight and flat after drying out. The rest is easy to fix.

If the neck does have to be replaced and the electronics as well, the fix would be looking to cost about as much as the replacement basses she's considering. Not that it isn't worth trying, and would probably help her learn a lot about her instrument.

No way.
I have personally saved dozens of flooded instruments and many other goods (I'm a loss adjuster).
Neck and body are immune to damage unless the water is very agressive and even then, only the finish really is at risk.
Electronics can effectively be cleaned up. Drying everything ASAP is the main trick.
If you make sure water is out of everywhere (pots and trussrod are the main points where water tends to stay) and put the instrument in a dry environment it is easy to clean and restore afterwards.

That said, hang the neck with truss rod opening pointing toward the ground.
If you can put it in a room/ closet and seal it in with some if this stuff (or similar)

Hi. Saturday night a heavy storm cause our basement to flood a bit as a result my old Peavey fury 4 was destroyed.
I am a beginning musician playing for over a year, and looking for inexpensive starting bass.
As you probably figured out I do not know much about basses. Yesterday I went to local guitar centers, and tried out few models. Problem is I liked them all. Here is what I am looking at. Somehow, I didnt see any peavey basses. I was told that Fury isnt even made anymore (picked mine at garage sale). So here are the basses I liked the best as far as sound. I also tried epiphone eb3, thunderbird, squire dimension 4, yamaha trbx, ibanez 250. None of them were bad. However the basses I liked the most are:

A) schecter stiletto extreme
B) washburn t24
C) esp ltd b4

Out of these basses which is the best built and best electronics? Me and my friends have a small garage band, mostly play heavy metal and power metal.

I was very surprised that they had no Peavey or Jackson guitars, but had literally dozens of Ibanez and Squire basses.

The body of the bass had some scratches.and dings at the back. Water also got into electronics compartment. I sold the remains for $75 to someone who wanted to take a gamble and restore it. Back to my original question:
