Bass eating batteries

Good Lord, i initially read that wrong and had me a little witch hunt for batteries going on over here...

Bass eating batteries - Scared the crap outta me.

Anyway, had this issue as well for a while. Always had 2 or 3 batteries on me for a gig or rehearsal. In the end i brought it to the local store for a new jack-socket (it made noise when i moved and i'm not a still-standing guy) who did a bit of rewiring etc. Now problem is over. Might be worth a try.

Don't you wish someone made a Lo-Z XLR system to use the phantom power of a mixer to power active electronics?
Even better would be an onboard li-po cell with a physical disconnect and a charge jack like you have on your phone so the charger would work. The right cell(s) could go months between charges and to avoid being caught out, a mini state of charge light strip that tests and reports when the battery is connected to the system. Make the switch a simple female plug on the front of the bass with a male plug as a key to arm the system. That and an A/P switch would allow you to use any existing outboard bass gear with a more reliable power system for you pre.

They could use wireless charging like the phones fo too. Built right into a stand. That would be crazy.
