Bass Electronics HELP!

hi, guys, can you help me out, i am currently building a bass, carl thompson inspired, and i was wondering how i can i make it sound like a vintage fender jazz bass, ive installed 2 passive discontinued models of kent armstrong soapbars ( so my brother sez) current set up is Tone Tone Vol and series parallel switch, i was wondering what type of capasitors to use and does pots have an effect on it i mean wether i use mono or stereo pots, thanx

Lots of great info and material there, and wonderful people to deal with. I'm not really knowledgable about the electronics, but I think the .47 mf cap is pretty much industry standard for tone control.
