Double Bass Bass feature for jazz concert

I have a performance coming up and have been asked to do something featuring the bass. I'll be playing with a guitarist and singer in a small concert hall. The guitarist and I will be playing duo for about 20 minutes we'd like to feature the bass on a few tunes so it's not all guitar playing heads. He suggested Tricotism which we'll probably do but would like some more ideas. I could just play the melody on a standard but would like to hear about any interesting bass features that would work well playing duo. Wouldn't mind some more modern stuff. Any ideas?

I like the idea of using the bass as a melody instrument. Why not pick a melody that speaks to you, never mind the genre?

That's one way I could go. I'm wondering if there are any hip duo arrangements that feature bass. Christian McBride's McThing is one I was looking at. It's trio but seems like it could work duo as well. Trying to get some other ideas along those lines.

How about something from Pat Metheny and Charlie Haden's album "Beyond the Missouri Sky"?
It has a wonderful selection of tunes and brilliant duo playing. Here's an example; probably my favorite tune written by Charlie. Give the album a listen, and maybe something from it will work for you guys.

I've done Bye, Bye Blackbird and Beautiful Love a few times (with a string swing trio). More "modern": try Alone Again (naturally). Great melody, sounds great on bass.

re:WALTZ, some of those long chromatic lines lay kinda funny in regular tuning. But yeah, that's fun to play. I've played TOUCH in C, Bb, and F, I'll have to try Eb. Andrew Beals has nice little arrangement that runs through Trane changes in the first ending....

Paul Chambers did OK with Yesterdays. Can't Help Falling In Love makes a nice arco ballad.

Thanks for the suggestions, all. I enjoyed checking everything out. I ended up playing the head on Billy Strayhorn's Raincheck. Guitarist wanted to do a Strayhorn medley and we did Raincheck with and uptempo latin groove, worked great.
