Looking to clear up some room on my board. I thinking of replacing my MXR134 chorus and Mooer Phaser with just a single flanger pedal. I'm also thinking of getting rid of Density Hulk, since I never use it. I want to try to keep it under $300. I'm not looking for a guitar flanger, I want to keep as much low end as possible (if that makes any sense). Unless there is a good guitar flanger with decent low end. Thanks guys. I've already checked other threads, and they werent much help.

Love my TC Dreamscape. Easily replaces chorus, vibrato, and phaser. It even has two differently voiced flangers, and you can do toneprints for chorus effects.

The TC Vortex is also fantastic but it just a flanger. But you can do flanger Toneprints so you can make it about anything you want. I use both the Dreamscape and Vortex Mini.

Well, this is a tough one because there is no bass-specific flanger. In addition, Flanger will not really replace phaser and chorus as it is really a different animal. But having said all that, to my ears, the best flanger for bass is the MXR 117. Fat sound, old school vibe and just enough control to make it interesting.

Having said all that, flanging IMHO doesn't sound all that great on bass. Really hollows out the sound. To my ears, the only modulation that works on bass is chorus or phasing, the two you want to get rid of.

Nah, I love flanger on bass! Sounds great!

Here's a few good examples:

I'm gonna be a dick and suggest a Strymon Mobius. Because BAM! ....you don't need any other modulation pedals after that....
That makes me feel better about my suggestion.

Pigtronix Echolution 2 (Deluxe)
Comb filter is a Flanger
Various choices of LFO shapes. Control over mix, rate, depth. You can further control these parameters singularly or in any combination via expression or envelope assignment (think Dynaflanger) with user definable range and direction.

Sweep Filter is a resonant all pass filter that is capable of phaser sounds. Again same control set as the comb filter. Can also use both the comb and sweep filter simultaneously.

Also does chorus too same control set, there's even a few factory presets that deal with each of these effects.

But it's probably overkill.

The chorus/flange/phase effects on the Echolution 2 suck.

Don't get me wrong, I love this pedal, and the mod effects do add a nice sheen on top of the delay, but I would not trust it to replace either the phaser or the chorus on my board - I've had to do it before while my chorus was out of commission and it was just sad.

That's cool dude. I just kinda like them with bass that's all.

Easy. SA Orbital. It'll do chorus, flange, phase, vibe, and tremolo. You get near-infinite capabilities to adjust the parameters of these effects, including EQ and clean blend. You've got two presets, so if you want to set up two different effects - ie chorus and phaser - in the one pedal, you can easily. They are way under $300 both new and used. Did I mention the quality of the effects is awesome as well? Like I said, this is a *really* easy choice.

the subdecay is at the top of my list. i have been on a crazy flanger buying binge lately. the soundblox orbital is second but those two a very different.

the boss bf-3 is my third choice for a bass flanger. i have bought over 20 flangers in the past 3 months. most have worked, but i am picky and am looking for a super jet screaming flanger sound and a diverse one capable of many sounds.
