Bass Hanging in a closet?

Hello, Im going to college soon and plan on taking some instruments (my bass and guitar) however (as some of you may know) college dorms aren't exactly full of space, so I was wondering it there was some sort of like clothes hanger type thing to just hang a bass up in a closet with that is fairly sturdy. I have some typical stands but I worry that they will occupy too much space. Thanks!

Hook the straps of a gigbag over a hanger. Loop or cross the straps so it doesn't slide off. My bag has a hanger loop at about mid-back just for that reason.

It's a dorm room! Typically dorms won't let you put holes in walls to hang things. That's why those Command adhesive hooks are so popular. Unfortunately, they won't work for something as heavy as a bass!

OP, what about rigging something up using one of those hangers meant to go around the handle of an amp? Such as the Markbass bass keeper.

You could either find or make something to strap it to against a wall in the closet or in another part of your dorm.

The main thing I would be worried about is it coming loose, my stuff isn't wicked expensive but I do like them and I'd rather they not fall lol

+1. My Warwick Rockbag has a metal ring at the headstock end. I used to hang it on a sturdy coat hanger all the time.

A lot of you guys are suggesting using the gig bag but the gig bag I have doesnt have such a strap or loop for hanging...also I plan on having a dresser under the bed (the beds can be elevated) so thats not an option, although I'd rather have the bass somewhere I can easily grab it so I don't have an excuse not to play...Thanks for all the suggestions so far!
