Bass ID Help: LP-Style Ibanez?

Been tempted to add a short scale to the quiver and found this vaguely Gretsch-ish one listed locally for not much cash. One (incomplete) picture, and the listing just says it’s an “Ibanez Short Scale Bass.” Google’s failing me - anyone know what it is?

I was going to say at first glance that it was a low-cost GIO model of some sort.
Glad to know I was in the ballpark on that one.

You dodged a neck diver. A Les Paul style body on a bass is ergonomically a bad idea.

Already on my radar… there’s an older (single-pickup) G2202 for sale locally, but it’s in rough shape… looks like the strap buttons got ripped out, reinstalled in a different spot, and ripped out again. I shudder to think what other indignities it’s suffered.

Seems like I can get a used G2220 (the 2-pickup model) cheap thanks to Humbuckergate. I’ll probably do that since it will be a mod platform anyway.

Not if the size and neck joint location are proportional.

The strap button is at the 16th fret, there's no way that thing balances well

If you make the body of a Les Paul style bass big enough that it balances, the reach to the first fret will be ridiculous. It's ergonomically a bad design for a bass.
