I have seen Epi's that had a similar shape.

Google Louis Johnson and then click Images - there is a single image with this Bass - looks like it say Acer? The image dead ends though when you try to follow the link.

Being that Steve Wishnevsky is in his mid-60's at the moment, I think that he was more than a 'twinkle' in his Pappy's eye back in the mid-1970's.
