Bass Keyboard/Synth... Is it making a comeback?

Hey guys

I am noticing alot of bass players (mostly in pop music) are beginning to use Synths or Keyboards instead of a bass for certain songs.
Do you guys know what these synth basses are and if it is really making a comeback? Lets discuss!

Not even sure the point of that response, unless you are just learning about that old internet meme as well.

The reality is that this is not a new phenomenon at all, and it’s not “making a comeback”, it has been a thing now for years.

I use a Yamaha MX61 to play my keyboard bass parts. It has very good pbass / jbass samples, with a decent synth engine for other bass sounds.

I play in a cover band that gigs monthly, and the portability / price of the MX61 can't be beat (in my opinion
