Buddy of mine had PJ Lyte back in the day. It was stellar. I hope you continue to love it in good health.

Those are great basses and the stock preamp was pretty sweet for the era. Is yours factory fretless?

The Lytes were great little axes, the answer to folks who wanted a Fender (or most any long scale bass) but were smaller in stature and felt overloaded by a traditional Precision or Jazz.

Worked pretty good for full-size folks, too. One more baffling 'why did they discontinue those?' Fenders.

I had one, brought it to Korea with me. Every piece of metal on it rusted in one Korean Summer. I had the Brown sunburst, which is why i bought it, but i didnt bond with. Its cool you found your number 1 though.

No. Someone had pulled the frets out when I got it. The fret slots are filled in, sort off. Lol.
