Double Bass bass makers in milano, italy

hello, I´ll be in Milano for a few days soon and would like to see some new or old basses. anybody knows a bass maker or a shop to see?

Hello, there are no bass shops in Milano to my knowledge. If you have time you have to go to Scaramelli (Ferrara) Bini (Cremona) Mariotto (Mantova) Versari (Bologna). Those are luthiers (Versari just sells) that normally have also old basses but better if you call them in advance to make an appointment (in general their english is not great...). Hope this is helpful.

If you're going to be there for a few days, you might also want to take the train to Cremona. It's a lovely ride, about an hour, and the town has several bass shops. Plus, it's the spiritual heart of violin making. There's an organization of bass makers there, too:

There's a bass maker in any italian city! In Milan there's Roberto Muzio, and 25km away, in Bernareggio, Pino Cazzaniga.

I cant find the number of Versari , but if you ask to the others (try Scaramelli) i'm pretty sure they have the contact number . He doesn't speak english but sometimes he has some fine basses.

in Milan you can find Ignazio Sanfilippo, a young luthier. Ignazio is a very nice and knowledgeable person, passionate about his work.

In Cremona I wouldn't miss Marco Nolli's shop if you have a chance. One of the best makers in Italy right now.

and in Milan... +1 for Ignazio Sanfilippo. Young luthier but extremely beautiful workmanship.

Definitely pay Nolli (Cremona) a visit!
Pricy but amazing instruments. He has a few old basses for sale too.
I don't know about the language issue, but he has some non italians working as apprentice in his workshop, so you might get some help there.
