Bass Maniac by Tune?

Hi everyone, I wondered if anyone could help me identifying this bass I have in front of me. It's a Tune Bass Maniac and I've owned this since I was 16. It's been played heavily by me when I was younger but not recently and I'm considering moving it on (not decided yet).
I know it's a Tune Bass Maniac but I cant find any serial numbers on it anywhere. I know it's at least as old as 91 as a previous owner has scratched the date and his name under the plastic pre amp cover. I was curious whether it was Japanese or Korean and would welcome any help locating any serial information for it. The pre amp board has Tune TB 05B stamped on it but that's all I can find. I have had a look through the catalogue that was kindly posted above but I'm still not 100% sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's Japanese. The angled bridge and neck pocket are telltale signs.
Thank you, that was my guess as well but was keen for someone more knowledgable than me to offer their opinion. It's been in my loft for nearly 10 years... think I'll spend a few days tidying it up and have a little jam on it.

I always noticed how the printed lettering and its position on the body reminded me of Philip Kubicki's Factors from the same late 80's period. (I think the first Ex-Factors were '85 or '86) I'll guess that Kubicki's came first, but really don't know for certain. The other related interest is the unauthorized STRIKER and BLASTER Factor clones that were made in Japan a bit later. Never have seen this in print either, but it seems they might have been made by Tune.

Thanks for this info. I'll see if I can get some insight from The Kubicki Factor fb page. I assume Phil was developing the Factor in the early 80's and may have been influenced by the Tune graphics.
I'd reckon lack of headstock real estate forced Phil's hand more than anything

yes, that too!
Speak to Nate at VSN Guitars.
They are the distributor for North America, hell I'm in Scotland and still found VSN the easiest place to buy knobs.
Not so sure he's selling Tune products anymore.
The last time I looked on VSN I saw only one Tune bass.

Only one Tune and it's 20% discount sale. Reckon sound business sense is at play.Bacchus and Maruszczyk are rising stars,Sandberg and Esh well established names. He'll move those quicker and easier than Tunes.
Can you post the headstock? One of mine is Korean with a different bridge. My Japanese one has a similar bridge to this and has a different truss rod cover.
