I don't know what people rag on Ikea. Their stuff is excellent quality (for what it is). I've had a set of book cases for two decades. They survived a move (disassembled easily), and have supported heavy legal books without bowing.
I thought they were colouring books. I coloured mine in and handed them back on the assumption that I would be in the running for a prize of some kind...

Really poor quality. One good stomp and it's done.
There actually was a Landmine pedal. I tried to buy one off another TBer, but he wouldn't ship it outside of the US, definitely not to Hong Kong so I told him to send it to my Canada address. Still wouldn't ship it across the border.
Well... how did he think he got it down in the US when it was MADE IN CANADA! Whatever, I still bought the Diamond Comp from him, also MADE IN CANADA.
Ikea stuff is a "your mileage may vary" — because they do offer some excellent robust products, but they also offer particle-board craptastic fall-apart bin-fodder.
So I'm glad your experience is with the better quality Ikea products. I have had both kinds of Ikea, the good and the craptastic; as the company's products are so pervasive it is difficult to get through life truly Ikea-free.
Certainly Ikea products have improved across the space-time continuum, but when Ikea was first making a name for itself, the high-end offerings were slim to none, and only low-grade to mid-grade at best was available. Add to that the ubiquity of the products in homes everywhere, that even the styling became banal. What if every car sold was red? Wouldn't you rather have a blue car? Well if not, someone else would certainly want a blue car.
So the perception and reputation of Ikea was cemented in many people's minds in the company's infancy, before they raised both quality and design levels.
I have other reasons for my distaste for Ikea, but this is not the place for sharing them.
So you may still not get why I and others don't like Ikea, but that's okay, you don't need to. I don't get why people have to rag on Boss (or pedals in general), or P-Basses, or "Coffee-table" basses — I like them one and all, but I'd prefer not to ever have to play through an SVT, but B-15 or B12 is fine. To mash it up — Different strokes for another person's poison.

The handles are a nice touch.
Yeah, I was gifted a small Ikea bed that's slated for Pedalboard construction; It has real chunks of wood glued together, not particle-dust.
I don't think Ikea sells the "Gorm" shelving units anymore, and certainly I've not seen ANY of the individual shelf pieces at local Ikeas here for a number of years, just the complete shelf units.
